Nancy Austin has worked in or supporting the Government for 35 years. She was commissioned in Army worked as a logistician and later as an acquisition manager. After a 23 year military career of varied assignments around the globe, Nancy retired as a Colonel and started working in the private sector as a Government Civilian.
Her private sector experience includes Program Analyst, Project Manager, and Government Business Consultant for AT&T and a Government Business Development Consultant for a small medical logistics company. As a Government Civilian, Nancy worked as a Branch Manager in an Acquisition Department of the General Services Administration, assisting Government Clients to acquire information technology and logistics Services.
Finally, Nancy worked as an Organizational Development Consultant with Army Medicine. Nancy’s education and experience has allowed her to see the Government acquisition process from all sides: as a Government employee needing goods and services, as a contractor who wishes to obtain contracts and as a Government acquisition employee who actually develops and administers contracts. Nancy has a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University in Business and Economics and a Master of Science in Acquisition Management for the Florida Institute of Technology. She has also received a Master’s Certificate in project management from George Washington University.
